What to expect when you visit on Sunday

WELCOME!

We’re excited that you’ve made the decision to visit Dunwoody United Methodist Church. Our goal is to help you find groups and ministries that meet your interests and needs. Whether you are single, married, divorced, widowed; young, middle-aged, mature; with infants, toddlers, teens, ‘tweens or grown children; we’ve got a group to meet your needs. God has brought you here for a reason. He wants you to find ways to use your unique gifts to contribute to the mission and ministry of His church. We hope you will open your heart to let Him guide you to YOUR place within Dunwoody UMC!

WORSHIP

Dunwoody UMC offers two Sunday morning services for your convenience. The early service begins at 9:00 a.m. and the late service begins at 10:30 a.m. Both services are traditional Methodist style services with powerful music and dynamic preaching. A communion service is offered every Wednesday night after our Wednesday supper. Visitors are always welcome at these services and more information for visitors is available at our Welcome Desk located in the Narthex.

DUMC 101: INTRODUCTION TO DUNWOODY UMC CLASSES

Just like college courses with the same title, the Dunwoody UMC 101 classes are an introduction to our church and our United Methodist denomination. Your clergy staff answers your questions about what we do, why we do it, what we believe, and how to get involved. During the first class session you will learn more about the church and its programs. In the second class you will learn more about United Methodist beliefs. The last class will be a church tour.

Rev. Zack Martin teaches the series of classes at 10:30 in the twenty30somethings suite on various Sunday mornings. Contact Rev. Martin at 770-394-0675 x 179 with any questions you may have.

The 2009-2010 schedule is as follows:

January 10, 17, 24 - 2010

March 14, 21, 28 - 2010

May 9, 16, 23 - 2010

CHILDREN

The Children's Ministry at Dunwoody United Methodist Church offers programs for children from 2 years old through fifth grade. Nursery is available for children under 2.

A children's bulletin is available for all children attending the Sunday morning worship services. The worship service includes a "Moments with the Younger Church" for all children and they are invited to come to the altar rail for a time of sharing with the minister and to pray. After “Moments with the Younger Church” most children exit the sanctuary to attend the Sunday school. For more information on the Sunday programs for children, click here.

YOUTH

The 180° Youth Ministry at Dunwoody United Methodist Church offers programs for children from sixth through twelth grade.

At 180° we believe that our Christian faith is all about renovation. If you were confirmed you said yes to a life filled with renovation. We are a work in progress. We are never finished, and we never know exactly what’s waiting around the next corner. Your 180° leaders want to make sure you’ve got the right tools for the job. We realize that there are all sorts of things out there competing for your time. However, time with God is very precious and you will encounter God at 180°.

180° meets in the Youth Area located on the first floor of the Activities building. For more information click here.

PARKING

Additional parking is located at the Dunwoody Library with shuttle service right to the front door of the Sanctuary.
