Children – Age 3 by 9/1/17 – Pre-K/Young Fives
8:45 am – Preschool Worship Hour, Room 171.
9:55 am – Spark! Sunday School in the Preschool with First Look curriculum.
11:05 am – Preschool Worship Hour, Room 171

Spark! Lighting the fire of God's Love in Preschoolers Sunday Morning at 9:55 for 3 through 5 year olds, provides a safe and secure environment where preschoolers grow in their relationships with God, their leaders and their peers. The First Look curriculum is designed for young children with one priority: Love God.

We have three relational motives:

  1. Move kids to LOVE LIFE by encouraging DISCOVERY
  2. LOVE OTHERS by fueling PASSION
  3. LOVE GOD by inciting WONDER

'. . . with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:37-39

In Spark Small Group, children interact with their Small Group Leader (SGL) in age appropriate activities until Large Group starts. Songs, Bible Stories, The Key Concept or Bottom Line and the Memory verse for the month are all part of Large Group. After Large Group, children go back to classrooms for reinforcing activities and prayer.
During the 8:45 and 11:05 hours, we gather the preschoolers together for worship readiness and bible basics.

Kdg-5th grade

8:45 a.m. - Contemporary Worship
Children are encouraged to worship with their family in the Contemporary Service in the Fellowship Hall.

9:55 a.m. Plugged In

Engaging K-5 kids in a way that allows them to TRUST and EXPERIENCE GOD and live out the DUMC vision to become more FULLY DEVOTED KIDS following Jesus Christ.
We want our K-5 Kids to be PLUGGED IN to these basics:

  • I can trust Jesus
  • I need to make wise choices
  • I should treat others the way that I want to be treated

Check in at a kiosk located outside the Fellowship Hall for printed security sticker. Parents check children in directly with Small Group Leaders at their designated group location. Plugged In Greeters can be found for additional information about small group locations, or look for leaders wearing orange t-shirts or aprons!

*10:45-10:55 am- PARENT CONNECTION
K-5 parents report to Fellowship Hall for weekly Parent Cue and proceed to pick up children directly from Small Groups.

Plugged In Segments:

Small Group:
During the first small group segment, kids connect with their small group leaders for a run-down on the week through relationship building activities.

Large Group:
Our large group time brings the Bible story to life and fun music keeps students singing, dancing and actively engaged. A Host and a Storyteller lead in a dynamic telling of the Bible story and share the Bottom Line application message each week.

Small Group:
Following large group, small groups gather to review the Bible story, learn the memory verse, and participate in fun activities that not only help them to apply the story to their lives, but also help them practice faith skills like prayer and Bible navigation to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus. Small Group activities are written with kids in mind – what they like, how they learn, and how they relate to the world around them.

11:05 am- Traditional Worship/Foundations & Traditions
Children are encouraged to worship at the Traditional Service with their family. At a designated time, K-2 children may go to Foundations and Traditions in the Chapel. Children grades 3-5 will stay for the entire Traditional Service. All children stay in worship on first Sundays when Holy Communion is celebrated.

Foundations and Traditions:
Kdg-2nd grade
K-2 children will focus on worship readiness, working together to learn about the different elements and traditions in a service so that they will be more engaged in worship when attending with their family.
