Courage and Hope for Uncertain Times

dan

The first time I visited our church after having learned that the Bishop had appointed me to be your pastor was May 5, 2014.  It would still be about six weeks before I would officially assume my responsibilities, but the announcement had already been made. The Church was having a special event and Dr. Wiley Stephens had invited me to come and be a part of the experience.  Rev. Adam Hamilton, the well-known pastor, preacher, and author was coming to speak.

I will never forget walking into the Sanctuary that night.  By the time my wife and I arrived, the Sanctuary was about three quarters of the way full and before the program began more than 1,100 people crowded their way inside.

There was a sense of anticipation that filled the entire room, and I remember how excited I was as I thought about the fact that I would have the opportunity to serve as the pastor of this great church.

With that as background, I am thrilled to announce that Rev. Adam Hamilton, the Senior Pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection will once again be joining us on March 13 at 7:00 p.m.  His new book, Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times, is scheduled to be released that day, and he will be with us to share about the book and personally sign copies of it after the program.

Fear is something we can all relate to and have felt at times in our lives.  For some of us it is a daily experience.  Maybe it is a specific fear… say, fear of our health or the health of a loved one.  Maybe it is the nagging anxiety that we won’t measure up or that we will fail at something that we care about deeply.  Whatever it is, we know the debilitating effect it can have on our lives.

Out of his observations of others as the pastor of a 20,000 plus member Church, and his own experience with fear, Adam has done extensive research and will be sharing what he has learned from a variety of experts in the field.

Tickets to the event will cost $16.00 and will include a copy of his book.  Click HERE for more information and to register. The tickets are likely to go fast, so I encourage you to register as soon as possible.

I hope you will make every effort to attend. Better yet, I hope you will invite a friend.  You will be glad you did.

As always, I look forward to seeing you Sunday, if not before!

Blessings,

Dan Brown
