Emmet Cahill - Benefit Concert for SUMMIT Counseling

Emmet Cahill - 2Emmet Cahill is an award-winning Irish tenor and a principal vocalist with the renowned Irish music show Celtic Thunder.

Dunwoody United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that he is performing a concert here on Sunday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. Our Chancel Choir will join him. You will not want to miss this! Proceeds go to The Summit Counseling Center at Dunwoody UMC to provide services to youth in our community.

Emmet’s concert in the Sanctuary is part of his 2018 solo tour across the United States to promote his debut orchestral album, “Emmet Cahill’s Ireland,” which went to number one of the Amazon, iTunes and Billboard World Music charts. Backed by the Orchestra of Ireland, Emmet offers his interpretation of the best of the traditional Irish repertoire, including “Danny Boy”, “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”, “An Irish Lullaby”, “My Cavan Girl” and “The Parting Glass.”

General admission tickets are $30 and may be purchased in the church office, online at or at the door. A limited number of Meet & Greet tickets, which
include a pre-concert meeting with Emmet plus the concert, are available for $45.

Adult Choirs

The Chancel Choir is the premier musical ensemble of the church. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 7:05 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the choir room. In addition to singing during Sunday morning worship services, the Chancel Choir presents special concerts in the church and in the community throughout the year. New singers are welcomed and no audition is required. Musica Gloria

Women's Choir

This group is designed for those ladies who can practice during the day. If you love to sing and can get away during your lunch hour, this choir is for you! Repertoire for the Women's Choir will be light and fun to include both sacred and secular selections. This ensemble will use the gift of music as a form of outreach at local nursing homes and community centers. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 11 a.m. - Noon, in the Choir Room.

The Youth Choir consists of musically gifted teenagers, 6th-12th Grade. The Youth Choir ministers through music in worship, on mission trips, in concerts and on choir tours. We welcome all youth who wish to make a joyful noise! Youth Choir meets in the Adult Choir Room most Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:030PM. Children's Choirs

Lil' Lambs

This choir for three-year-olds introduces the children to singing, moving, creating and playing with emphasis on the preparation to participate in worship. This choir is limited to 20 singers and will allow new members to join in January and August of each year. Singers must be 3 by August 31.

The Cherub Choirs include Cherub Girls and Cherub Boys, 4 & 5 year olds** in preschool and kindergarten. Both choirs are introduced to singing, playing rhythm instruments, moving, and creating music to share in worship. **Children must be 4 years old as of September 1.

Carol Choir

Carol Choir, for 1st and 2nd graders, builds on musical knowledge learned in Cherub Choir and encourages the young singers through fun with music and participation in worship. Special events include musicals, concerts and Christmas Eve service.

Crusader Choir

The Crusader Choir, for 3rd—5th graders, continues to develop the vocal and musical skills of the children. Crusader choir members begin singing in parts, expand their knowledge of musical notation, and begin preparation for leadership in the worship services. Special events for the year include musicals, concerts and community outreach.

The Dunwoody Handbell Ringers is an advanced group that performs regularly for worship services as well as concerts and weddings. Some openings occur each year. Children's Tone Chime Choir

For grades 3-5, this beginning choir plays for services throughout the year. Music experience helpful, but not required. Meets Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:30 in the Handbell Room (#102). 

Youth Handbell Choir

The Dunwoody UMC Youth Handbell Choir is open to all youth in grades 6 through 12. No experience is necessary, although it is helpful to have some basic knowledge of reading musical notation, especially rhythms. The youth bell choir performs several times throughout the year, including the Family Christmas Concert, Christmas Eve service, and Youth Sunday in the spring. It is an enthusiastic and fun group!
