Dunwoody UMC has a very active women’s ministry that spans all age groups and interests. Our groups welcome women who want to broaden their faith, make new friends, connect with like-minded women and participate in service projects. From small groups to banquets with guest speakers, there’s something for every woman at DUMC.

Upcoming Studies

Finding Jesus in the Psalms | Barb Roose guides the reader through a meaningful encounter with the Psalms through the season of Lent. Combining an interpretation of the psalms with real life stories, the study moves through the familiar words of Psalm 23 toward the painful cries of Psalm 22 uttered by Jesus on the cross. The study includes reflections on the life of King David and the original context of the writings, along with connections between the psalms and the life and death of Jesus the Messiah. Join us as we discuss this book on Wednesdays, February 21 - March 27, 7:00 p.m. in Room 240/242.

Upcoming Events

    United Women in Faith

What Is United Women in Faith?

We are a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization for women to grow spiritually and work to create a world in which all women, children and youth thrive.

    What We Do

Our membership runs between 275-300 ladies who meet monthly September – May. We are organized into 8 different circles representing all age groups. Each group is known as a “Circle” and meets monthly to engage in fellowship, mission work, Bible study and fun. We invite speakers on various topics and work on service projects like feeding the homeless, donating time and materials to community charities, working on global mission projects, participating in Bible studies and providing support to members who are sick, grieving, having babies and much more.

    UMW Missions

In 2020, Dunwoody UMW was recognized by the North GA Conference as a Goal of Excellence Unit and a Five Star Giving Unit. We also gave over $6000 in 2020 to national UMW Missions through our pledge drive. Because of our members’ generosity, we were able to donate the following in 2020: click here to view.

    How to Get Involved

Read through the descriptions of the Circles to find one that matches your interest. Contact the Chairperson to visit a meeting.

Don’t See a Group That Fits Your Interests?

Let us know about your interests and age group. Dunwoody United Women in Faith wants to respond to the needs of the women of the church! New circles can be formed.

For information about UMW, contact Jody Schuetz, Membership Chair, at jodyschuetz@comcast.net or 404-916-2829.

    Women's Groups

    Midweek Moms’ Meetup

Calling all moms! While the kids are in Wednesday night programming, take a moment for yourself. Learn and grow with other moms in one of our midweek meetups. Join us in the Kids Activity Room at 5:00 p.m. or the Fellowship Hall Nook at 6:00 p.m. (look for the signs) for a casual, drop-in session of sharing and study.

    Tapestry

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near, Hebrews 10:24-25. We are a group of women with diverse lives who seek to connect through fellowship, learning and acts of service. Please join us!

    L.i.F.T. Women

Looking for a new way to grow in faith? Join this Sunday school offering for women of all ages and stages! Led by Rev. Kathy Brockman and Rev. Calissa Dauterman, this class is a great place to meet new friends, deepen your knowledge of scripture, and get plugged into the life of the church. Our first study is a deep dive into the Psalms, using creative practices like art and music, alongside standard Bible study. We hope you’ll join us on the Sunday School hallway in Rooms 255/257 and invite a friend!

    Working Women’s Network

This group for working and retired women focuses on fellowship and supporting one another as sisters in Christ. We participate in a variety of service projects and enjoy educational programs by outside speakers. We welcome and look forward to meeting visitors and new members.

    New Horizons in Christ

This is a group of women with grown children, grandchildren and aging parents. Monthly meetings are geared toward service projects to help families. Meetings are held on different days and nights depending on the service activity, but are generally in the morning. We also meet for a variety of social events throughout the year, and these typically occur in the evening. We have found that this flexible schedule helps our participation.

    Heart & Home

Our members are moms of children in high school through young adulthood. We strive to build supportive friendships with one another and nurture faith and families. We come together for a mix of service projects, Bible studies, and social gatherings.

    UWF Book Club

UWF Book Club will meet on the third Monday every other month at 7:00 p.m. to discuss books selected from the United Women in Faith (previously UMW) book list. For more information, contact Angela Go at aarnold419@gmail.com.

    Serving and Sharing

This group of women gather for fellowship, spiritual growth and group projects which support the missions of the church. They enjoy thought provoking programs designed to increase awareness of opportunities to enhance spiritual life.

    Family Living & Giving

This Circle is for retirees enjoying grandchildren and caring for aging parents. We participate in many service projects in DUMC and the community. We have devotions, guest speakers and a brief business meeting each month. Join us for participation in meaningful fellowship.

    UMW Bible Study

This group provides members a time to enrich their study of the Bible. Lessons presented by various leaders provide the closeness of fellowship and help them dedicate their services through UMW.

    Gracetime

This group is for young women in their 20's and 30's. They gather for fellowship and to spotlight unique and creative ways to give back. Visit facebook.com/DUMCYA for upcoming meeting information.
