UMW Circles

Bible Study

This group provides members with a time to enrich their study of the Bible. Lessons presented by various leaders give them closeness of fellowship and help them in dedicating their services through UMW. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Wesley Room, visitors welcome. For more information, call Ruth Ellen Wilkinson at 770-393-8376.

Family Living and Giving

Our members are comprised of empty nesters, grandmothers and recent retirees. We share each other's joys and concerns and support our members through life-changing events by prayer and various expressions of love. Our devotions and programs are designed to nurture our faith, to aid us in our spiritual growth, and to encourage community service. We are actively involved in many church programs such as the Holiday Festival, Green and White Banquet, Consignment Sale, Women of Grace Dinner, teaching and church committees. We provide meals, toiletries and shoes for the Women's Community Kitchen, which is part of the Action Ministries. Some of our members regularly work at CAC and for years we have participated in the Adopt-A-Family Christmas program. We also work on Habitat Houses and are involved in missions and Great Day of Service. We meet in the Parlor on the second Monday of the month at 11:00 AM. Our meetings consist of a business meeting, speaker and fellowship followed by a "brown bag" lunch. Drinks and dessert are provided by one of our members. Come check us out!  We would like to include you in our thought-provoking programs, service activities, support system and fellowship time. Heart & Home

Our members are moms whose oldest child is just starting college, in high school, or in middle school. We strive to build supportive friendships with one another and to help each other as we nurture our faith and our families. Meetings are usually the third Wednesday of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m., either in the church Parlor or in a member's home. Several times per year we go offsite for volunteer work or social events instead of a meeting. Childcare is available with reservations. Moms on the Grow

This group of mothers was founded over ten years ago and has been "growing" strong ever since. Moms on the Grow is a group of mothers with infants and/or preschoolers that meets one Tuesday morning each month in the Church Parlor. We gather to engage in religious, social and philanthropic endeavors. The moms within the group contribute casseroles to the Holiday Festival, sweets to the Gourmet Shop, and volunteer countless hours at Vacation Bible School and the Consignment Sales. In fact, some founding members of Moms on the Grow started the DUMC Consignment Sale. We assemble the candles for our church Christmas Eve services and assist with the prep work for arts and crafts for our summer Vacation Bible School program, all while socializing and supporting one another. At our meetings we invite speakers to teach on a range of topics relating to faith, marriage, family, and raising little children. We cherish this group and always walk away learning something new and feeling uplifted and encouraged. If you are a mom with young children, please consider joining us. This is a great place to feel safe, supported and normal as we walk through this journey of motherhood together. Nursery care is provided and we always welcome babies on laps. New Horizons in Christ

Is a UMW circle full of caring Christian women. Our children are in high school, college and beyond. Many of us are empty nesters and some work and some do not. We have moved to a more flexible schedule that lends itself to members taking on the monthly service and or social gatherings. Over the last few years, our volunteer highlights are making sewing kits for the UMCOR, sorting clothes and helping at the Foster Care Support Foundation, cutting out and sewing bags for children in Guatemala, helping with the preparation for Vacation Bible School, serving Holy Week lunches and make lunches for kids during Spring Break. Highlights of this year's social engagements include several social events at members' homes, a pottery party, and hopefully dinner and a play. We also try and include lunch after our service projects.
