Dunwoody United Methodist Church Foster Care Ministry Orientation Sessions

In the state of Georgia there are more than 10,000 children in foster care at any given time and the need for homes to support these children is so great the United Methodist Children's Home has to turn away 30 children a week. The Foster Care Ministry at Dunwoody United Methodist Church serves to promote congregation-wide interest in foster care, encourage and support individuals to become foster care parents, and encourage individuals and families to become part of a Dunwoody UMC-based support network of care for foster care parents. To find out how you can help to transform the life of a child today, attend an upcoming orientation session.  Future dates are being planned. Prayer Request

  • Pray for the 400,000 children in foster care in the U.S.
  • Pray for the foster families and the churches involved in foster care ministry.
  • Pray for the social workers, judges and everyone involved in child welfare across the country.
  • Pray that God moves on the hearts of individuals and ministries who are called to the ministry of foster care.

Lord, we pray for peace for every child in foster care across the nation.

"All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace." Isaiah 54:13

Many children who enter foster care are filled with fears and worries—from their family problems to the issues of crime and unrest in the world. We must pray that they will grow in their trust in God and that the peace of God will cover them regardless of the surrounding circumstances.
