POLICY REMINDERS

Financial Policies/Billing Schedule: Tuition and Extended Day fees will be posted on your HeadMaster account on the 15th of each month and are due the 1st of the next month. If payments are not received by the 6th, a $20 late fee will be applied to your HeadMaster account. If payment has not been made by the 15th of the month, an additional $30 late fee will be applied. Late fees will continue to accrue until the account has been made current.  If payment is not made within 30 days your child may be considered withdrawn from DUMCP.  Also note: All payments are non-refundable. Kindergarten payment schedule differs from Toddlers-Fours; the final K tuition payment is due December 1.  If at any time you have questions about your account, please contact Amy Rohan at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Carpool: We recommend using carpool in the mornings and afternoons to limit the number of pedestrians in the parking lot as much as possible. For Toddlers, who must be walked in, please park on the Sanctuary side of the church; it is prohibited to park and walk in on the playground side due to the carpool traffic flow. Twos should also adhere to this policy until carpool use is available to them beginning Monday, September 28.

Toilet Training: Students in Threes classes and higher are required to be completely toilet trained in order to attend DUMCP. Each child should be wearing underwear (not pull-ups or diapers) and independently use the toilet, manipulate clothing, and wash hands.

Toddler Gentle Adjustment Schedule: During the month of September, the Toddler classes will ease in to their three-hour day.  The first weeks of Toddler class will be approximately one-hour and increments of time will be gradually added until reaching the full three hours during the week of September 28. Toddler teachers will review the schedule with you during Open House night.

Our Program

iStockPreschoolKids1

Our preschool program is available for Toddlers (one year old by September 1st) and up to 5 year olds in our Kindergarten program. Each class is designed to meet the developmental needs of your child. Children flourish in a loving, nurturing Christian environment. “God’s Time” blessings, stories and songs from the Bible are an important part of each day. A developmentally appropriate chapel time is held weekly for our Threes, Fours, and Kindergarteners.

Security. Rest assured that safety is a priority. Every effort is made to provide the safest environment for your child. Strict departure policies and a monitored security door access system are part of this program.

Staff. Our preschool teachers are nurturing, skilled, and experienced early childhood educators. We maintain high standards by attending workshops, seminars, and in-service training classes throughout the year. Each teacher has her own special gifts and talents that make for a loving environment for your child.

Family Oriented. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved in our program. The Parents’ Club is an active organization that supports our program, as well as unites families in our school. We strive to promote a positive relationship with the family through open and ongoing communication and encourage parental involvement. Our active parents make a difference!

Curriculum. Dunwoody UMC Preschool has a dedicated Curriculum Coordinator who develops standards for and ensures that milestones are being met for each age level.

Music Program. Trained music teachers provide a program designed specifically for each age group. Children experience a broad range of music from around the world.

Foreign Language. A native-speaking teacher provides an introduction to Spanish for Fours and Kindergarten through activities, music, and movement.

Kindergym. Creative movement class is always a favorite! Many forms of exercise are enjoyed: stretching, dancing, running, ball rolling, bean bag tossing, and parachute play.

Extended Day. An optional time is offered for our Twos, Threes, Fours, and Kindergarteners in the afternoon. Children enjoy eating lunch, relaxing and socializing with friends. Enrichment programs like Sports, Art, Science, Drama, and Fitness are offered at this time for Threes to Kindergarteners.

Accreditation. Dunwoody United Methodist Church Preschool is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS/CASI). The preschool is also a member of the Georgia Preschool Association and the United Methodist Preschool Association of the North Georgia Conference.
