October 27: "Positive Discipline" Parent Education

positive discipline

Please join Kelly Gfroerer, Ph.D., LPC, Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, on Thursday, October 27 from 9:15-11:30 in the Wesley Room.   Dr. Gfroerer will lead a parent workshop on Positive Discipline. Nursery will be available.  Here we will focus on the top 10 tools to help you use Positive Discipline in your home.  Children thrive  when there is structure and routine coupled with a parenting style that is both KIND and FIRM.  Each tool will help you use discipline challenges as an opportunity to teach your children important life skills including impulse control, self-control, self-regulation, emotion management, problem solving skills, and more.  If interested, parents will be able to sign is for a 4 week course that delves deeper into Positive Discipline to be scheduled in the winter months.  A survey will be provided to help identify the day and time to hold the class series based on parents’ needs.
