40-ish w/Young Children - Conference Room
A class for parents in their 40’s (or older) with preschool age or younger children. The class focuses on the unique challenges and common experiences of older parents with young children. Class topics include courses on parenting styles and approaches, study sessions on encouraging loving and supporting marriages and lively group discussions relatedto everyday issues within Christian homes. Brand New Day - Wesley Room
Brand New Day is a group of married couples in their 30's and 40's with preschool and elementary children and an occasional newborn added to our family. Our focus is centered on relationships, including our relationship with God, Jesus Christ and our community of fellow Christian believers. Crusaders - Room 258/259
The mission of this class is to worship God by studying His Word, promoting the general welfare of DUMC and fostering love and friendship among the church’s caring older adult members. Teachers from the class lead discussions based on scripture and selected resource materials. Annual fund-raising projects help the elderly and other mission projects. Digging Deeper - Staff Conference Room
A class for adults, any age and stage, interested in an in-depth study of the Bible. This is aimed at adults who are interested in asking challenging questions and eager to engage in lively class discussions. Faith & Fellowship - Scout Lodge (Girl Scout Room)
This is a class of age 50+ adults who choose a variety of contemporary and biblical short study topics, making it easy to jump in and out when family obligations and travel keep members away. Fellowship - Room C-103 (Womens Activity Room)
A closely-knit supportive group of senior adult friends. The Bible is used for lively discussions with give-and-take on all sides. The class is very active in its support of missionaries, local service projects and fellowship activities. Social events include occasional retreats, holiday parties, lunch/dinner gatherings, birthday and anniversary celebrations and visits from the missionaries supported by the class. Faith Builders - Room 254
This is a fun, 40-ish class whose members are from diverse Christian backgrounds with elementary, middle and high school-aged children. The class is focused on applying scripture to everyday life and understanding God's plan for each of us through class member and teacher-led sessions. Interpreters - Francis Asbury A, Room 105
The purpose of the Interpreters class is to study the Bible and discuss the meaning and relevance of scriptures in daily life. The Adult Bible Studies Series (International Lesson Series) is used and the class is led by Jack Culbreth and Lewis Brinson, with lively participation by members. There are also intermittent class sessions on different specialized topics.  Social functions are held from time to time throughout the year.  Most members are active in church and volunteer services for the community.  A warm welcome awaits all who visit the class. Mixed Company - Room 255
This is a diverse class of single and married adults, age 40+ with or without children. The class is presently studying The World Shattering Ministry of Jesus. This study discusses how Jesus' ministry shattered his world and how Jesus would shatter our world today if he were on Earth. All seeking for a Sunday School home are encouraged to stop by and visit. Pacesetters - Parlor, Room 214
This class, 50s and older, wants to learn more about the Bible and contemporary issues, and explore how the two interrelate. In addition to supporting DUMC missions, the class undertakes its own local outreach projects. Class social events during the year help foster fun, fellowship and  mutual support among members, prospective members and visitors. Parents in Christian Growth - Francis Asbury B, Room 105
Class members along with guest teachers lead the class which alternates between Bible study and a variety of topics that relate to raising families in today’s world and Bible study.  The class holds social functions and assists with the mission and ministries of the DUMC church community. The Potter’s Clay - Thomas Coke Room, Room 104
This class of 40+ studies Scripture to understand how  God’s Word applies to life.  No homework required – just drop in for a lively discussion.
