and You are invited to join us!

Me, Myself, and Lies

Me, Myself, and Lies...a “thought-closet makeover” by Jennifer Rothschild. We all talk to ourselves all the time. We evaluate everything we do, compare ourselves to others, and even call ourselves names. We disparage who we are instead of telling ourselves the truth about who God says we are.

Me, Myself, and Lies deals with our destructive, unrealistic, self-talk. In this study, as Jennifer Rothschild takes us through the things we commonly say to ourselves, she teaches us to practice Godly and Biblical soul-talk. 7 week session beginning Monday, September 20, 9:45 - 11:45 a.m. DVD, group discussion, homework. Please RSVP to Beth Quick at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Here and Now...There and Then

Here and Now...There and Then by Beth Moore is a series on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing us to decide for ourselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. 11 week session beginning Wednesday, September 22, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. DVD, group discussion, light homework. Please RSVP to Joy Culbreth at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 770-396-5852.

WE HAVE A RICH HISTORY AT DUNWOODY UMC……

In 1991, Dunwoody United Methodist Sr. Pastor, Wiley Stephens, approached long time members, Becky Wright and Nancy Meeker with a request that they begin a prayer ministry within the church. Becky and Nancy agreed and realized there was need for such a class in which to (teach women how to pray.) Nancy wrote a study on prayer and taught this for several years.

The ladies saw that there was a great hunger among the women of Dunwoody UMC for focused Bible Studies. A task force comprised of fifteen ladies formed to evaluate the needs followed and Women of the Word, was born. As Women of the Word, we are committed to teaching the Word of God to the ladies of Dunwoody United Methodist Church.

Since the conception of WOW ten years ago, God has richly blessed the women of Dunwoody UMC and our community at large with growth not only in Bible Studies but also through special events and fellowship.

The Women of the Word are a community of women who desire to learn how to apply the Bible with relevancy in today’s world and to mature in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to grow this ministry and bless those who come to be a part of it.
